When Lunar New Year arrives, the Faculty's students participate in the Spring Volunteer Campaign. This campaign is significant to the general society and also demonstrates the social responsibility and volunteerism of students of HCMC Open University.

This year, the Youth chapter of the Social Work class CT13 has joined Spring Volunteer Campaign to work in Minh Duc commune of Hon Quan district, Binh Phuoc province from January 14, 2016 to 17/01/2016. This year's campaign of the class focused mainly on activities for children (especially primary school pupils). With the local cooperation, the students have implemented a number of activities such as clearing and cleaning the local roads, making “Banh tet” (Sticky rice rolls for Tet holidays), giving presents and visiting five families in difficult situation, showing animation films, and organizing communication activities on the subject “dengue fever prevention” and teaching the children with basic handicraft techniques for Tet decoration, organizing the Games Festival with more than 200 awarding gifts and the  music and art performance to celebrate the spring and awarding 10 present packages to the primary school pupils.

The campaign was successful and brought joy to most local children. The campaign also brought to the participating students unforgettable experience and memories.
