You are cordially invited to attend MIT SOLVE’s MIT SOLVE’s Youth, Skills, and the Workforce of the Future Solve-a-thon on July 3, 2017from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM at SiHub in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
The beginning of the 21st century has been marked by rapid advances in technological innovation—from smartphones and big data to artificial intelligence and machine learning. While new technology can generate jobs and increase labor productivity, it also creates job displacement and widens the skills gap. Today’s generation of young people now face a world in which nearly half of today’s jobs globally—around 2 billion—are at risk of becoming obsolete due to automation and technological advancement in the coming decades.
Do you have an innovative idea or existing project that helps to address this global challenge? Then we want to hear from you.
Join us for an evening of ideation, brainstorming, and design thinking on July 3 from 5:30PM - 9:30PM hosted by Solve, an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's (DFAT) innovationXchange, and the Atlassian Foundation, at SiHub (address: SiHub, 273 Điện Biên Phủ, phường 7, Quận 3, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam).
By participating in this Solve-a-thon, you and your organization will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate with other innovators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers as we #CrowdSolve solutions to the Youth, Skills, and the Workforce of the Future challenge.
The application deadline for the 2017 SOLVE Challenges is August 1st. Challenge prizes include up to USD$2 million in funding, mentorship from Yo-Yo Ma and other artistic luminaries, as well as resources from across the SOLVE community. Learn more at solve.mit.edu.
